Life Cycle
The life cycle of fungi
Mushrooms begin as a spore, which then grow hyphae into a network called mycelium. Mycelium are essentially a complex "root" system which makes up the majority of the
biomass of the organism.
When certain environmental conditions have been met (such as oxygen levels, humidity and/or light), the mycelium begins to form a fruiting-body, which we know as the mushroom.
